Taken outdoors on a winter’s night in the hills. The fog was created using an outdoor smoke machine. The light source on the other side was a spotlight. Nikon D90, Nikkor 50mm f/1.8 , shutter release, tripod, Adobe Lightroom.

Shot was taken during a September hike just before nearing the summit of Black Lake in Rocky Mountain National Park. The weather was pleasant during the morning, but a storm quickly rolled in producing a down-pour during the trip back down the mountain. This shot was taken just as the rain started.
